Interesting 'Rail' magazine comment

The relevant sentences in the paragraph in Rail , headed ‘Wormit’, are as follows:

‘Tata Steel has suggested a new station for the proposed new Dundee-St Andrews link. Along with Newburgh, it is included in the regional Tayplan proposals.’

It is certainly true that Tayplan includes Wormit and Newburgh, subject to STAG (Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance). However, so far as we know, they have not countenanced the line to St Andrews. It is , therefore, most intriguing that
Rail cites a new Wormit station in the context of a St Andrews-Dundee line. There is no reference to the St Andrews-Edinburgh link, which would be by far the more used. Does Rail know something we do not?
