Support from Herald journalist

In an article in the Herald about improvements to the railway, Rosemary Goring describes proposals for a new St Andrews railway as ‘common sense.’
Ms Goring explains that despite the failings, more railway routes are required. ’Talk of extending the Waverley Line to Hawick is coming closer to reality. Proposals to reopen the disused line from Leuchars to St Andrews are common sense.’
This is a welcome endorsement from an eminent journalist, albeit what will be required is a new line on a new alignment rather than the old one.
