Report in Courier of 50th anniversary

The Courier reported yesterday’s commemoration, complete with photograph showing the campaigners at the old station site with a variety of artefacts including the silver shovel which cut the first sod of the St Andrews-Anstruther (coastal) railway, a large photograph of the last train’s arrival on 4th January 1969 and the distant signal arm from Edenside, near Guard Bridge, found in 1989 having lain in the ditch for 20 years.
