Mention in Herald

In the Herald letter column, William H. Laird of Glasgow supports the development of the Highland main line (albeit also the A9) and the restoration of the Edinburgh-Perth via Glenfarg route, lost due to motorway development. ‘Interestingly, ‘he notes, ‘this was not a Beeching closure and neither was the St Andrews branch.’ After noting the success of the Edinburgh-Tweedbank service and suggesting it should be extended to Hawick, Mr Laird concludes by hoping that, ‘our politicians and their advisers will continue to be ambitious.’

So do we, Mr Laird. We hope Transport Scotland will tak tent.
