The Citizen article mentions Lord Steel’s ‘renewed greetings’ following his support for StARLink in the early days, and Sir George Reid’s message supporting a full feasibility study, saying,
‘The restoration of rail services to Alloa in my former constituency has resulted in passenger usage far in excess of the original estimates. Following the Tata report, I believe there should now be a feasibility study on similarly linking St Andrews to the Scottish rail network. It would be so pleasant to return again to the Old Grey Toun by train, as I did countless times when I was an undergraduate at the University there.’
