Kingdom FM coverage of funding refusal

Radio station Kingdom FM has covered the fall-out from last week’s refusal to grant StARLink the remaining £7K to enable the Scottish Government funded appraisal to be carried out.
Labour’s Cllr Brian Thomson repeated his assertions that a St Andrews railway is a ‘speculative’ project, apparently ignoring the fact that the application is for the STAG rather than anything more long-term.
Supporting the proposal, Liberal Democrat Tim Brett compared St Andrews with North Berwick which has a railway, noting the importance of St Andrews to the economy of Fife as a whole and pointing out that the STAG will look at all transport options, which should prove once and for all whether or not a railway is viable.
