Citizen covers lack of Leuchars rail/bus connection

In the St Andrews Citizen, StARLink convenor Jane Ann Liston recounted how she and several other passengers got off the late-running last train at Leuchars from Edinburgh to find that the last bus to St Andrews had gone. She laid particular stress on the question of passenger safety because of the isolated nature of Leuchars, noting that passengers may not have mobile phones to call for a taxi, or even if they do, there may be difficulties getting through, or they simply may not have enough money for a taxi-fare.

Scotrail advised passengers to use the Help Point and also that those with PLUSBUS tickets would be transported to their destination. However as Ms Liston pointed out, the Help Point is back across the footbridge on the deserted platform and PLUSBUS is not an option between Leuchars and St Andrews.
