St Andrews' lack of rail mentioned in Herald

An article about the recently-reopened station at Reston noted in passing that St Andrews has no railway station.
Written by David Leask, this edition of 'The Big Read' notes that:
'Renfrew and St Andrews, which each have 50 times more people than Reston, do not have stations at all.'
Of course size is not everything, and Reston's being on an existing line undoubtedly made it easier to reopen its station. Also, Reston is supposed to serve the nearby larger communities of St Abbs, Coldingham and Chirnside as well as the village itself. Yet the fact that St Andrews is mentioned in an article of this sort shows that its station-less status has become absorbed into popular discourse without prompting, which is a very good development.
