Latest Golflink figures confirm bus is a turn-off

Last July the number of trains stopping at Leuchars during the Open was increased by about 20%, with the Edinburgh-Perth trains being redirected to Dundee via Leuchars, plus the two trains which normally cannot stop at Leuchars due to Tay Bridge restrictions. Despite this, fewer than 1 in 8 (12%) attending the championship used the service, the same as in 2010. This compares with 23% the last time the Open was held at Carnoustie and 20% when it visited Troon.
