Citizen coverage of LRDF grant

Trailed on the front page the St Andrews Citizen covers the LRDF grant - meanwhile in the letters column a reader suggests a tram.
The £180K award is covered, and mention is also made of the imminent publication of the first part of the STAG, namely the ‘Case for Change’ which is expected in early October.
The tram suggestion in the letters column is interesting, and will doubtless be considered as part of the STAG, which must identify all possible solutions to the issue raised, in this case the amount of traffic in and around St Andrews. However it should be noted that a tram would not permit through-running, still requiring a change at Leuchars, which would be likely to deter potential passengers and not achieve maximum modal shift.
