In the article in the ‘Sunday Post’ about the Borders re-opening, Railfuture Scotland spokesperson Ken Sutherland said,
‘There’s a huge demand for re-opening lines and stations such as St Andrews. And when they do open the numbers of users are two, three, even four times what has been predicted. Tourism, land and house prices, everything gets a boost when there’s a railway.’
And who could possibly argue with that?
