St Andrews rail plans 'great news'

Colin C. Maclean of Edinburgh wrote that, like many other Scottish towns, St Andrews should never have lost its rail connection, and describes plans to reconnect it by a completely new alignment as ‘great news’. Mr Maclean, however, warns against an over-long gestation period, as has happened with other albeit successful rail re-openings, to avoid excessive construction costs.
